Northwestern Veterinary Hospital first opened its doors on September 12, 2005. Our 6,500 square foot facility offers a variety of services for dogs and cats. We are Northwestern Ontario’s largest companion animal hospital with 11 on-staff veterinarians sharing over one hundred years in veterinary medicine experience. Supporting our veterinarians is our team of nearly 50 support staff members, including our friendly reception team, trained Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs), and veterinary assistants.
When you and your pet come to see us, you are greeted with a warm and friendly reception area with plenty of natural light and a gas fireplace. While waiting for your appointment, please feel free to browse our selection of retail products, veterinary diets, and client education materials.
Behind the scenes, Northwestern Veterinary Hospital offers separate cat and dog wards for our patients. Our open concept treatment area allows us to meet your pet’s needs at every visit. Our dedicated surgery room allows us to offer services from routine spays and neuters to complex surgeries like orthopedics. After surgery, your pet will be kept comfortable in our recovery area, which features radiant floor heating and is easily in view of staff members at all times. We also have dedicated dental and x-ray rooms, allowing us to care for your pet from head to toe. Post-surgery needs can also be met with companion animal laser therapy and physiotherapy services. Finally, our Intensive Care Unit features large windows, allowing our staff to monitor your pet closely and create a comfortable atmosphere for ill patients.
Our hospital carries a variety of veterinarian-recommended food, treats, supplements, and products, and our in-house pharmacy is able to dispense medications for your pet on site. Whether here for a routine vaccination or for emergency or critical treatment, we will ensure that your pet is comfortable and cared for.
